POVERTY

Africa and its peoples are still grappling with the challenges of perpetual poverty. As the Director General pointed out in his report, Africa is host to the largest number of working poor in the world. We recognize the positive initiatives that have been taken and those that are underway to deal with the situation. We appreciate the role of the ILO,the UN family in general, and that of the development partners in this regard.Their support and actions give us every reason to be optimistic about securing abrighter future for our children and for future generations of Africa.
